‘NO NAME GIVEN’ Is Apparently a Common Name on CDLs and Even Real IDs
Daybreak noticed Oklahoma’s Governor Kevin Stitt’s tweet (xeet?) expressing anger at the large number of illegal alien commercial truck drivers with CDLs not specifying their full name. It turns out that illegal aliens can even get Real IDs without full names from states such as New York and California. Kevin Stitt: If New York wants to hand out CDLs to illegal immigrants with “No Name Given,” that’s on them. The moment they cross into Oklahoma, they answer to our laws. OHP performed an enforcement action along I-40 and apprehended 125 illegal immigrants. This is keeping Oklahomans safe. ( Governor Kevin Stitt on X) David Strom at Hot Air embraced his inner Abigail Spanberger and unleashed his rage: There are states where illegal immigrants can get a driver’s license with, quite literally, no documentation at all. They can make up a name (perhaps not even that!) and address, and the state will hand over what amounts to a real version of fake documents that will give them the rights and privileges that are supposed to be reserved for legal residents. You and I need various forms of documentation to board an airplane. An illegal doesn’t even require a name. At least, when Des Moines schools handed out a $300,000 a year job to an illegal alien with sketchy credentials and a criminal record, they got a name. That’s a low bar, but these days even that is too much to ask, apparently. ( Hot Air) Tell us what you really think, David.

Quantico Meeting a Pep Rally as Much as a Policy Gathering
Daybreak doesn’t want to downplay the importance of Secretary of War Pete Hegseth’s and President Trump’s meetings with flag officers that took place at Quantico yesterday, but we were amused that all the dark speculation about its purpose was as accurate as our horoscope this morning. Townhall’s Jeff Charles summed up the speech: Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth gave a rousing speech to military leaders during a conference on Tuesday. During his speech, he highlighted the Trump administration’s efforts to eliminate diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs from the military while wiping out the woke leftist influence that crept into its ranks under the Biden administration. “This administration has done a great deal from day one to remove the social justice, politically correct, and toxic ideological garbage that had infected our department, to rip out the politics,” Hegseth said. “No more identity months, DEI offices, dudes in dresses, no more climate change worship, no more division, distraction, or gender delusions, no more debris, said before, and we’ll say again, we are done with that sh*t.” Hegseth argued that “upholding and demanding high standards is not toxic,” but that “endangering subordinates with low standards” and “promoting people based on immutable characteristics or quotas instead of based on merit,” are examples of toxic leadership. ( Jeff Charles at Townhall) Daybreak will admit that Hegseth no doubt caused a great deal of consternation on one topic: fat generals. …it’s completely unacceptable to see fat generals and admirals in the Halls of the Pentagon and leading commands around the country and the world. It’s a bad look. It is bad, and it’s not who we are.” Prepare for resignations from flag officers who dissent from this directive to get fit. No doubt many will rebel against this creeping fascism.

Schumer Shutdown Begins
Americans are bracing for the end of the world, or at least that’s what Chuck Schumer and the Democrats want you to believe. The standoff between the Democrats and sanity continues, with Democrats hoping that Americans will blame Donald Trump for whatever bad things can be attributed to the federal government shutting down nonessential functions until a deal gets passed. Daybreak went to (virtual) press before the official end of the fiscal year, but is betting that no deal will be reached between now and midnight. Matt Vespa at Townhall lays out the case for why Republicans should not be afraid of the political fallout: Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) think they have the Republicans beat. They think they can hurt Trump. You can’t know when your approval ratings are worse than Trump’s and the GOP’s. You can’t when you have no charismatic leaders. You can’t tell when your agenda action items aren’t popular. Shutting down the government over illegal alien health care is a loser. And Republicans shouldn’t be afraid of the polling. To start, no one cares—the only people directly impacted are government workers. Mark Mitchell had a lengthy thread about shutdowns and polling impacts—Republicans should hold the line at all costs ( Townhall). Mitchell’s polling indicates that Trump will come out of the conflict almost unscathed, but in the meantime, he will be empowered to do many things he otherwise might not be. You can follow his explanation here.

It Wasn’t Just Tulsi—TSA Put 3 Republican Congressmen on ‘Quiet Skies’ List to Follow While Flying
Decent people, meaning those who realized that (thankfully former) President Biden abused his power all the time, were shocked to learn that former Congresswoman, presidential candidate, and Lieutenant Colonel Tulsi Gabbard was followed by the TSA every time she flew. She had been added to the “Quiet Skies” program, which purportedly followed potential terrorists around the country. Now we learn that 3 Republican Congressmen were also on that list. Matt Taibbi: Ahead of Tuesday hearings on the subject, the Senate’s Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee (HSGAC) obtained documents showing three members of Congress, all Republicans, were followed under the TSA’s just-discontinued Quiet Skies program, which became infamous last summer when whistleblowers revealed bomb-sniffing dogs and Air Marshals were assigned to follow former Hawaii Congresswoman and future National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard. The members’ names have not yet been publicly released, but they were turned over to the Committee by the Department of Homeland Security, along with “TSA” notes explaining how they ended up on the list. Two of the three members made it onto the list before being elected, but as the Committee notes, “a cursory review would have revealed them to be a member of Congress, or a decorated U.S. veteran or service member.” ( Matt Taibbi at Racket News) The documents also reveal numerous other sketchy practices of intelligence agencies, including targeting critics of…wait for it…mask mandates. You can’t make this up. Mask skeptics were treated as potential domestic terrorists.

1 Million Pounds of Cocaine Seized This Fiscal Year
Democrats and the media are in a tizzy because Trump is literally at war with drug cartels, but if the proof is in the pudding, it tastes pretty sweet. Fox News: A Florida-based multi-agency task force has seized a record one million pounds of cocaine during fiscal year 2025 — a haul officials say represents 378 million lethal doses, enough to kill every American. The seizure was announced by Joint Inter-Agency Task Force – South (JIATF-S), led by U.S. Southern Command (SOUTHCOM). The unit, which includes the U.S. Coast Guard, works with partner nations to disrupt the flow of illicit drugs through the “transit zone” between South America, Central America and the Caribbean and to weaken transnational criminal organizations. According to the task force, the amount of drugs seized over the past 12 months is enough to fill 42 dump trucks. The 2025 fiscal year ends Tuesday. JIATF-S confirmed to Fox News Digital that the effort has denied cartels and narco-terrorists $11.34 billion in revenue and removed 377.9 million lethal doses from the streets. ( Fox News) Daybreak has called Hunter Biden to get a comment on the impact on the current price of cocaine, but has received no comment by the time of publication.

Sodom and Gomorrah in Quebec: Gay Throuple Adopt Child With Government Approval
Daybreak was unaware that this had already happened in the United States and only learned this because Quebec had approved the first adoption of a child by a gay “throuple” (3 men in a polyamorous relationship) this week. Newsmax: Quebec has approved its first adoption by a polyamorous trio — a “throuple” — granting three men legal recognition as parents of a 3-year-old girl, according to Visegrad24. The groundbreaking case follows a Superior Court ruling earlier this year that affirmed children can have more than two legal parents. Two men are officially registered as the girl’s parents, while the third is seeking full recognition under Quebec’s revised Civil Code, which now accommodates multiparent families. The adoption, finalized after a full home study and court review, marks a significant shift in Canadian family law, expanding parental rights beyond traditional norms. ( Newsmax) Daybreak notes that while God has promised no new world-covering floods, the same cannot be said of destroying cities as He did to Sodom and Gomorrah. Daybreak recommends that its readers consider these facts when deciding where to live.

Democratic Candidates Running Ads in Arabic and Somali in Minneapolis and New York City Now
Earlier this year, we noticed that Minneapolis political candidates were releasing commercials in Somali. That the current Democrat candidate for Mayor, Omar Fateh, would do so is no surprise—he is a Somali running as a Somali nationalist. But his opponent, current Mayor Jacob Frey, has also been pandering to Somalis, releasing a video where he speaks into the camera in Somali. ( Jacob Frey on X) He frequently attends Somali cultural events, as Somalis are now a crucial voting bloc. Daybreak was surprised, though, to see New York City’s candidate for City Council Kayla Santosuosso ( Kayla for Council), pandering to the Arab community by releasing a video in Arabic. ( Kayla for Council on X) It has been decades since Daybreak got used to seeing politicians make their pitches in Spanish, so we shouldn’t be surprised that changing demographics have led to this. Whether one welcomes the change or not is up to the reader. In any case, Daybreak recommends reading up on the finer points of Sharia law.

From Lawfare to Barfare: Liberals Focusing on Disbarring Conservatives
RealClearInvestigations reports on the Democrats’ push to disbar lawyers allied with Donald Trump. This is not a new phenomenon—leftists created an entire NGO dedicated to destroying Trump’s lawyers—but it has apparently accelerated. Benjamin Weingarten: When Jeffrey Clark was tapped to lead the second Trump administration’s chief regulatory review office, it marked an astonishing redemption. For years, congressional investigators and prosecutors had pursued the former Department of Justice official primarily over an unsent letter he drafted, in support of President Trump’s 2020 election challenge, calling for Georgia to consider launching a last-minute legislative session to review its results. Trump’s return to power has not ended Clark’s troubles: Washington, D.C.’s legal disciplinary authority has recommended he be disbarred over his conduct from five years ago. Lawyers for Clark claim that the effort seeks to punish “thought crime” regarding their client’s belief in potential irregularities in an election that authorities declared devoid of widespread fraud. Even as President Trump’s critics now claim he is engaging in retribution against a wide range of past assailants, including former FBI Director James Comey, his supporters say Clark’s case reveals there is an ongoing, politically motivated push to punish MAGA advocates. In their telling, the president’s adversaries who weaponized the justice system through “lawfare” have opened another front in their war through “barfare.” ( RealClearInvestigations) Daybreak notes that Clark may be disbarred for writing a letter he never sent, which sets a new standard. We thought that going after lawyers for representing a client was bad enough, but punishment for Thoughtcrime is a new low. After all, we don’t live in the United Kingdom, where people get arrested for silent prayer.

Trump Announces Major Moves to Lower Prescription Drug Costs
In a move that surprises nobody, the Trump administration has named a program to lower drug prices for Americans TrumpRX. The program itself is very ambitious, promising to lower prices by an average of 80-85% on many common drugs. NBC News: President Donald Trump announced Tuesday that his administration has reached a deal with Pfizer for it to voluntarily sell its drugs at lower prices to Medicaid patients. As part of the deal, Trump said, Pfizer will sell some of its drugs on a new “direct to consumer” website called “TrumpRx.” Trump said the website would be operated by the federal government, but offered few details about how the program would work. The deal Pfizer cut with the White House will give the company a three-year grace period on Trump’s planned tariffs on pharmaceuticals made abroad, which are expected to take effect Wednesday. The agreement on lower prices will cover “a large majority” of Pfizer’s primary care medicines, along with speciality brand-name drugs, which will be offered at discounts averaging 50% and reaching as high as 85%, a spokesperson for the company said. ( NBC News) Townhall: For years, countries with socialized healthcare systems have relied on American medical innovation and drug manufacturing because their healthcare systems do not have the funds to support such research and development. As the president said, “The United States is done subsidizing the healthcare of the rest of the world.” ( Townhall)

Democrats May Regret Forcing a Government Shutdown
Historically speaking, Democrats have been able to pin the blame for government shutdowns on Republicans, regardless of the circumstances. However, we live in the age of Trump, and Trump has magical powers. That may explain the recent polls that indicate that voters are not pinning the blame exclusively on Trump, and are open to the idea that Democrats are causing the crisis. Echelon Insights polling indicates that the public is split, with a plurality blaming both parties. When asked directly whether the Democrats should force a shutdown, voters were emphatically opposed. Echelon Insights: A government shutdown is set to begin at midnight tonight. When we asked voters overall who they would blame if a shutdown happened, they were split. Independents were also split, but a plurality said they would blame both parties equally. After being given additional context, voters overwhelmingly said Democrats should not withhold votes to fund the government. The one group that disagreed with this is Democrats, who narrowly supported withholding votes and shutting down the government by a two-point margin. ( Echelon Insights) Bonchie at RedState: while Democrats are no doubt responsible for marching America toward another shutdown, given they’d be the ones blocking a clean funding bill, they would also be marching themselves into a trap. If the clock strikes midnight and there’s no continuing resolution, the Trump administration will be able to go nuclear on the bureaucracies, which remain the primary power center for the left. In fact, a memo has already been set out by OMB telling various government agencies to prepare for mass firings. ( RedState) Daybreak notes that, while people in both parties will be inconvenienced, public employees are a Democrat, not Republican, constituency.
