Today, you will likely receive dozens of solicitations from Democrats across the country asking for your support to help them finish the fundraising quarter off as strongly as possible.

Unless the email is from PA Supreme Court Justices Wecht, Dougherty, or Donohue, that fundraising email is not as important or as urgent as what we are sending you right now. We are not being facetious when we say this. Here’s why:

In less than 35 days, on November 4th, 2025, Pennsylvanians will vote in a state Supreme Court Election that is life or death for Democrats across the nation. This body has the final say on key swing state Pennsylvania’s voter suppression laws and on election results.

If MAGA takes this court, it means Pennsylvania and its 19 electoral college votes will never go for Dems again. Not in the ‘26 midterms and not in the ‘28 presidential election, where Trump claims he’ll seek a third term.

The above headline mentions that these justices rarely lose in retention elections, and this was the prevailing notion that Democrats had coming into this race. It made us complacent, and until just weeks ago, everyone thought a Democratic win was assured.

Now we are in the midst of a full-blown frontal assault as MAGA has taken the lead in this race and is throwing everything they have into seizing this critical court.

Democrats are mounting a comeback in this race, and Defend Our Courts is leading the counteroffensive, but we are still massively outnumbered and outgunned.

In Spring 2025, Democrats faced a similar onslaught in the Wisconsin Supreme Court Election and were able to pull off a victory. However, that was early in the year before most congressional campaigns had kicked off their fundraising. Now we are unfortunately having to compete for donations with everyone else.

This race needs to be a priority right now. Once it’s over, we can shift focus to the midterms. Can we count on you to rush a donation of $50, $25, or even $5 to help us salvage this beyond this critical election?
