Dear John,
At Wildlands Network, our California Program is focused on one big challenge: keeping wildlife moving safely across a complex patchwork of highways, development, and changing habitats.
California’s landscapes are vast and varied, and so are the strategies it takes to keep them connected. From road ecology research in the Lake Tahoe Basin, to planning new wildlife crossings in the desert, to working with partners to strategically acquire and protect private land along Highway 395, our work in California shows how science and collaboration come together to make connectivity real.
This month, we’re excited to share updates that bring these efforts to life. These stories highlight practical research and on-the-ground solutions that help wildlife thrive across the state. As you read, you’ll meet our growing team — each project is led by a different member, showcasing the expertise and passion driving our work to reconnect, restore, and rewild California.
For the wild,
