Hi John,
We need to be direct: There is nothing more crucial in the coming weeks than passing Proposition 50 — the Election Rigging Response Act.
Prop 50 is our firewall against Trump’s election-rigging scheme. If it fails, MAGA Republicans will stack the deck and lock in control of Congress before next year’s midterm elections even begin.
That’s why our organizers are out every single day:
➡️ Knocking doors across California to tell voters the truth about Prop 50;
➡️ Phone banking and text banking to reach voters before Trump’s lies sink in;
➡️ Mobilizing voter protection efforts, including staffing our hotline to ensure we can address questions and help every single Californian cast their vote.
➡️ Printing and distributing literature in multiple languages so every voter has the facts they need to vote YES on Prop 50;
But all of this — canvasses, phone banks, and voter protection hotlines — costs serious money. We didn’t budget for a major statewide ballot initiative this year, so we constantly rely on grassroots donors to keep our initiatives funded .
And at midnight tonight, we face our final public FEC End-of-Quarter deadline for the Proposition 50 campaign. Trump cronies and GOP dark money donors will leaf through our filings, seeing if we have the resources to out-match them or not. If they see our fundraising slowing down, you better believe that Republicans will spend MASSIVE cash to defeat Prop 50. That’s why we need your support so urgently. Will you pitch in?
