Since it’s the last day of the month, I’m sure your inbox looks a lot like mine right now: Filled to the brim with unread emails, and half of them are from Democrats like me, well… asking for your hard-earned money.

Trust me, I know these emails can be more than a little annoying, especially when so much is going wrong in our country right now. But the truth is, if we want to make things right, we need to win elections — and under the broken election system in which we live, that requires money. A lot of it.

So yes. This is a fundraising email. Today, I’m asking you to chip in just a few dollars to Team Pettersen before our critical End-of-Quarter FEC fundraising deadline at midnight tonight.

Listen, I know that’s a lot more direct than most of the other fundraising emails in your inbox. But at a deadline as important as this, there really isn’t any room for subtlety.

When our numbers go public after tonight’s deadline, MAGA Republicans will have the opportunity to scrutinize our campaign for any signs of weakness. And since I represent the most competitive district in Colorado currently held by a Democrat, you can bet they’ll take an extra long look at our report.

That’s why tonight’s deadline is so, so important for our campaign. If we showcase strength in our report, we’ll be sending a message to Republicans to back off. But if we look vulnerable, things change. And not in a good way.

We need to close out this quarter as strong as possible. Not for my own sake — but because the future of Colorado and our country depends on winning seats like this. Please, can you chip in just a few dollars before our books close at midnight?
