Dear John,

This Independence Day, Delawareans and Americans across the country are dealing with the strange "new normal" this pandemic has brought about. Instead of our traditional celebrations, we find ourselves socially distant and contemplating the perpetual inequality that still exists in our nation.

As we commemorate this holiday in new ways, I want to also ask you to continue fighting alongside me to help make our nation a more perfect union, where freedom and justice are felt by every American and immigrant who seeks refuge here.

Let's honor the sacrifices of those who came before us, by exercising our long-fought for right to vote. Together, we can more fully realize the ideals of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, making them more than a dream, but a true reality for all.
