Friend --
POTUS is coming back to NC! He'll be doing a rally in support of
Sen. Dan Bishop in the 9th District. Stay tuned for a date and more
details. Remember when Obama lectured everyone about income
inequality? Guess
who just purchased a $15 million mansion in Martha's
Vineyard? I've got a confession to make: last week, I said that
Hickenlooper was the first Dem to drop out of the Presidential race.
He wasn't; It was Rep. Eric Swalwell. Now there are four:
Massachusetts Rep. Seth Moulton and Washington Governor Jay Inslee. I
guess we should call him Jay Outslee. (*rim shot*) I'll see myself
out.

The Koch brothers have been used as boogeymen for years by the
liberal left. What they never talk about is the over $1 BILLION
they've donated to charity, especially for cancer research. David
Koch, who was given just a few years to live after a prostate cancer
diagnosis 27 years ago, passed away at the age of 79. Rest in peace,

From the fawning adoration for Democrats to
unending scrutiny for Republicans, the media has had trust issues for
decades and it's lower than ever today. The New York Times'
editor said the quiet part out loud. Sadly, what was said is not going

Ever since accused sexual predator Jeffrey Epstein committed
suicice, there have been endless conspiracy theories that, for once,
aren't out of the realm of reality. Regardless, Attorney General Barr
is furious about the situation and is removing those responsible.

In the 2016 election, there was talk about what's termed a
"faithless elector." Basically, state electors - the ones who compose
the Electoral College - would not vote for the winner of each state in
the Presidential election. This disturbing ruling from a judge in
Colorado will ultimately end up the Supreme Court. The

Many of you have kids that are returning to school next week.
Because of Cooper's Medicaid expansion ultimatum, funds for your
child's education and the raises for their teachers are being held

A firm belief that many, if not everyone, on the right holds: you
can spend your money better than the government. North Carolina had a
$900 million surplus. Cooper wants to spend it on what he wants.

Greedy Dan McCready is trying to make state education a federal
issue. While Sen. Dan Bishop supports school choice, McCready has made
it pretty clear he doesn't and would rather throw billions at failing
schools instead of allowing parents to decide what's best (something
the Obama admin did). Here's the distinction: McCready has every
right to send his kids to whatever school he wants; He just doesn't
want you to have the same right. Daily

CONGRESS
As previously mentioned, they're out on August recess. One quick
mention: socialist Senator Bernie Sanders introduced his own Green New
Deal. This slimmed down version? Just
$16 trillion and requires massive tax increases on the middle
class. No biggie.
GENERAL
ASSEMBLY
Because of Cooper's ultimatum holding the budget hostage, the Republican
leaders are going to put Cooper on the defensive by passing the budget
piece-by-piece. Veto the teacher pay raises and education funding
in a stand-alone bill? Good luck explaining that one to voters. As
promised last week, the General Assembly passed HB 370, aimed at
requiring county sheriffs to participate in the 287(g) program with
ICE. Cooper
promptly vetoed it. Because every Democrat voted against it,
expect to see this veto and vote later on the campaign trail. The Farm
Act has bipartisan support...and opposition, mainly due to a provision
regarding smokeable hemp. It
was passed out of House Rules, but we'll still have to see if it
goes further.
