It’s often said that 90 percent of success is showing up and doing your job.

And where are Republicans? Nowhere to be found.

At midnight, the federal government runs out of money. And instead of negotiating with Democrats on a budget to avert a shutdown, House Republicans have skipped town.

But I’m still here, fighting as hard as I can for Pennsylvania families. My position is clear: Congress needs to do its job. A budget is a reflection of our values — I will only support a budget that prioritizes the economic, physical, and civic health of our nation.

I’ll keep fighting for a funding bill that puts Pennsylvanians and our country first. I know that this is a hard time for many families, but if you’re able — and only if you’re able — will you chip in before our end-of-quarter deadline tonight? [[link removed]]

Republicans in Washington have already threatened to furlough federal employees if Democrats don’t cave to an agenda that guts health care for millions of Americans.

Let me remind you: despite whatever spin they attempt, Republicans have the White House, the Senate, and the House. If the government shuts down, it’s on them. They are the architects of this chaos.

I’m going to keep standing strong for the people of Pennsylvania and for the country’s greater good — and I’m asking you to join me if you can.
