Dear John, What an amazing night! On Saturday, September 20th, we held A Night for Advocacy: our annual pro-life gala. It was a beautiful and uplifting event, made possible thanks to the generosity of our event sponsors, attendees, and donors. During the evening, our keynote speakers Alan and Lisa Robertson (of the TV series Duck Dynasty), shared their inspirational personal stories of brokenness and redemption. Their honest, down-to-earth style made their remarks incredibly moving. In his comments, Alan underscored the early decision by his teenaged parents to choose life for him.
Lisa, who experienced an unexpected pregnancy as a teenager and got an abortion, reflected that an abortion facility is “the coldest, darkest, loneliest place you’ll ever go.” She said the abortion facility staff told her multiple lies, including that the unborn baby she carried was just a “glob of tissue” and that she’d soon forget about the abortion.
Additional speakers included event emcee Brenda Aikin of Mater Dei Radio in Portland, Oregon Right to Life Executive Director Lois Anderson, and myself. In my own talk, I had the opportunity to share several powerful real-life stories with attendees, showing them that their pro-life presence really makes a difference. It’s not just a platitude – we know it because we see the results. We exceeded our $150,000 fundraising goal by more than $10,000. Our amazing sponsors contributed nearly $70,000, and donors met a generous matching challenge that doubled the first $35,000. We're so grateful for this outpouring of support. From start to finish, A Night for Advocacy 2025 was truly a night to remember. I hope to see you there next year! |
