Happy Fourth of July to you and your family.

Last night's celebration at Mt. Rushmore by President Trump and thousands of our fellow Americans was a great way to begin our celebration.

Let us never forget the sacrifices that our veterans and those serving in our Armed Forces have made to secure our freedom.

This an important day to remember those who founded the United States. Our Founding Fathers had a grand vision for self-government.

When they signed the Declaration of Independence, they were also signing their death warrant...should they fail. It was their determination, sacrifice and the grace of God 244 years ago that carried them through. We are the beneficiaries of their vision, their dedication and their commitment tonbuild a new nation unlike any other at the time. What they secured for us, should never be forgotten.

“Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn't pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children's children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.”

This warning from President Ronald Reagan is never more pertinent than today as the misinformed and misdirected seek to scrub our Founding Fathers from our nation's history.

As you speak with family today, remind them of America's rich history, a history of sacrifice, serving others and a dedication to the principles of life and liberty. Teach your children and grandchildren of the perils if we forget.
