Today, we come together to celebrate this country’s ideals: justice, equality, freedom, democracy, and the belief that every worker deserves a fair paycheck, good benefits and the opportunity to achieve the American dream.
As Americans, we share these values -- and it’s our duty to fight for them.
Our country faces a moment of tremendous change. Every day, our brave neighbors are showing up to confront incredible challenges. From frontline health care workers saving lives to frontline activists demonstrating for racial justice, we’ve never been more focused on creating a more perfect union.
Today, I hope we’ll stand with them -- wearing masks and staying distant, speaking out against injustice, and aspiring to our country’s ideals.
