This cuts deep, and it’s even more personal to our mission.
John,
Joaquin “Guac” Oliver. Nick Dworet. Jaime Guttenberg.
We honor them and all other victims of the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.
On February 14, 2018 seventeen lives were stolen. You can read through the stories and dreams left behind by Guac, Nick, and Jaime by clicking here and reading Change the Ref’s 30 under 30 magazine →
Guac, Nick, and Jaime had hobbies, lives, partners, and in an instant they were stolen. Guac walked into school that morning carrying sunflowers for his girlfriend. Nick was a gifted swimmer who dreamed of swimming in the summer 2020 Olympics in Tokyo. Jaime had a smile that put people at ease and aspired to be a mother and a pediatric physical therapist.
Schools are for futures not funerals, and yet annually more than 4,300 children and teens are killed by guns.
Every child in America deserves to learn, grow, and LIVE. We’re not going to let Guac’s, Nick’s, Jaime’s or any victims of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting’s deaths be in vain.
Keep fighting. Keep advocating. We aren’t backing down until not one more child dies from gun violence. If you can, please consider supporting our mission by donating anything you can today.
