John

Our lives are flooded with plastic -- and plastic waste is on pace to nearly triple by 2060.1

When your tub is overflowing, the first thing you do isn't reach for a mop. You turn off the faucet.

That's what PIRG is working on. It's clear that to get out from under all this plastic pollution, we need to use much less plastic in the first place.

From supporting restrictions on the most wasteful forms of plastic, to convincing companies to cut their use of excess plastic packaging -- we're building a less wasteful future, one common-sense solution at a time.

But we can't keep this work going without supporters like you, John

Until midnight, your donation will go twice as far to support real solutions to plastic pollution. Donate today and your gift will be matched dollar-for-dollar, up to $10,000 nationwide.

Thank you,

Faye Park
President

U.S. PIRG September Drive

John,

Plastic packaging is out of control.

We're paying the price for all this so-called convenience in piles of trash, microplastics in our bodies, and toxic fumes from burning plastic waste.1,2

PIRG is building a future where unnecessary packaging is a thing of the past and where our lives are free from the clutter and contamination of plastic pollution.

Donate to our September Drive before midnight, and your gift will be matched by generous supporters up to $10,000 nationwide.

This or This? Plastic packaging is out of control. We're calling on companies to use less packaging so we don't end up with more of this. Donate today

Plastic production continues to increase -- it's projected to nearly triple by 2060. And we're starting to feel the effects.3

A growing number of studies aren't just finding microplastics in the environment -- they're also being found inside our bodies. There's still so much we don't know about the long-term health consequences, but researchers are finding links to a wide range of diseases and health conditions.4

Where do these microplastics come from? In part from plastic waste disintegrating into tiny particles that don't fully break down. Other microplastics come from textiles and tires, or from the packaging on the food we eat.5

For our health and the health of generations to come, we need to address plastic pollution at the source, by making and using less plastic in the first place.

Donate by midnight tonight to double your impact.

Instead of pushing problems on to the next generation, PIRG is tackling the plastic pollution head on.

We're educating the public about the risks of single-use plastics, urging companies to commit to reducing their reliance on plastic packaging, and campaigning for more transparency around plastic recycling.

Will you support commonsense solutions to plastic pollution? Donate to our September Drive to help amplify PIRG's work to reduce plastic production.

A future free of plastic pollution is possible, and we're so glad to have you on our side.

Thank you,

Faye Park
President
