We wanted to share some thoughts with you on America’s 244th birthday. 
 
On this day 244 years ago, our founding fathers risked life and limb to give us self-government founded on the principles of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. 

Those unalienable rights have been tested time and again over the last two and a half centuries, but to every challenge thrown our way, we have always risen above it. 

We have always been a nation that stands up for the right causes -- and some have paid the ultimate price in doing so. But we can’t be discouraged by this. We owe it to ourselves, our children, and our ancestors to continue to pick up the torch of liberty and freedom for all those living in darkness around the world. 

I hope we can all take a moment to reflect on that sacrifice today -- John, if we should learn any lesson from today, it is that we honor the past by securing the future. I hope we can count on you to help us in that mission. 

From my team, my family, and myself, I hope you have a safe, healthy, and wonderful Independence Day.
