Andy Bell

Chief Executive

Dear friend,

This month, we were delighted to launch our new strategy ([link removed]) into the world, setting out how we will work to create a mentally healthier future. We’re committed to building a future where our essential needs are met, we can all access support when we need it, and no one faces mental health inequity or injustice. We can’t do this without you - donate today ([link removed]) to help us fight for better mental health for all.

If you want to be part of realising our strategy, there are some exciting opportunities to join our team! We’re looking for an Executive and Finance Officer ([link removed]) to play a vital role in our operations, and an outstanding senior leader to become the new Head of the Children and Young People’s Mental Health Coalition ([link removed]) .

Alongside the Coalition, we’ve been at Labour Party Conference this week highlighting the urgent need to turn around worsening mental health among children and young people. Our message to the Government is clear: investing in children’s mental health ([link removed]) is an investment in the future of our society – a future we cannot afford to jeopardise.

Explore more on how we can drive change in mental health in our latest blogs ([link removed]) . Thank you for your continued support.

** our new five-year strategy
------------------------------------------------------------

This month we launched a bold new five-year strategy laying out our plans to create a mentally healthier future for the UK. A mentally healthier future ([link removed]) reinforces our purpose and sets out the actions we will take over the next five years to tackle mental health injustices within policies, systems and society.

The new strategy comes in the midst of a steep decline in the nation’s mental health, with over a million people on waiting lists for mental health support. 23% of adults now experience a common mental health difficulty, but only half of these people receive help.

We have a long history of exposing inequities in mental health care, and working with systems and services to find practical solutions. In the coming five years, we will continue this vital work.

** Our vision is of a mentally healthier future where:
------------------------------------------------------------
Text: Our essential needs are met so we can all have better mental health
Text: We can all get the mental health support we need at the right time
Text: No one faces inequity or injustice because of their mental health
