CALLING ALL CHANGEMAKERS!

The Bill of Rights Institute has a unique opportunity to blend civic learning in your classroom with your students' real-life experiences in their communities, and the ideals of America&rsquo;s 250 years, commemorated in July 2026, through

MyImpact Challenge.


MyImpact Challenge is our national civic engagement contest that highlights students who are actively engaged in service, volunteerism, or entrepreneurship within their communities. Educators can help students engage in practical applications of concepts discussed in class with our
[link removed]
Founding principles and
[link removed]
virtues , to enhance their understanding and appreciation of civic engagement.

The contest is open to U.S. citizens and U.S.-based young people between the ages of 13 and 19. Students with an active project that demonstrates their impact can enter and:



- Win up to $10,000,
- Boost college applications and resumes,
- Secure funding to further innovative projects,
- Be recognized in the community,
- and connect with other young changemakers.


What are the Contest Requirements?

To submit a project, students must describe an idea they have envisioned and brought to life. Each project must have three components:
- A written essay to connect their project to our

- A project report that highlights their inspiration, their project execution, and their impact,

The 2026 Student Fellowship Opens Tomorrow!

Student Fellowship is a 6-month educational program that helps high school students develop as leaders and develop civics and leadership skills. Applications open on Wednesday, October 1 to 15-18 year old&rsquo;s who are currently Juniors or Seniors (or equivalent).


Twenty students are selected for the program and meet twice a month for 90 min sessions, design and lead public virtual events, and are invited for a week-long capstone experience in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Each session will have a short reading, discussion, and writing assignment.

National Civics Bee(R) invites students in grades 6&ndash;8 to explore an issue in their community, propose a solution, and compete for recognition and prizes. The essay application portal is open now and closes on Feb. 3, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. HST.
