Medical experts and major medical organizations warn that the Trump administration’s push to steer pregnant patients away from acetaminophen (commonly known by the brand name Tylenol) could endanger both mothers and babies. PRH Fellow Dr. Mariana Montes told Today this move may leave patients with riskier, more dangerous options.
"In no scenario would I ever recommend to a patient to 'tough it out,'" Dr. Montes says, referring to President Trump's exact words. "You do not 'tough out' an infection. You do not 'tough out' back pain."

State Spotlight— Building Power in Pennsylvania

PRH staff and our PA alum come together for our first in-person regional retreat.
In September, PRH brought together more than 150 clinicians, policymakers, researchers, and advocates for our Pennsylvania Virtual Summit on Reproductive Health, Rights, and Justice. With CME credit offered through the American Academy of Family Physicians, participants heard from powerful local leaders—including New Voices for Reproductive Justice, Philly Voice for Change, Philly Abortion Doula, Abortion Liberation Fund of PA, and others—on the legal landscape, the harms of mandatory reporting, and how community organizations are leading the fight for care and justice.
We also hosted our first in-person regional retreat for our PA physician alumni. Alumni deepened connections, sharpened advocacy skills with PRH’s expert staff, and learned from Juntos and the PA Immigration Coalition about immigrant justice and community power.

PRH Opposes Proposed Ban on Abortion Care for Veterans

What you need to know: This dangerous policy threatens medical ethics, patient dignity, and equitable access to care, which is why we must speak out and demand its reversal.
