Dear Friends and Allies,

Often overlooked and many times relegated to just being a bunch of ignorant donors, Asian America will likely save democracy before anyone notices. From culture, to sports, to business, and now to politics Asians in America are paving a way that no white political machine consultant will ever understand.

From Shohei Ohtani, Jensen Huang, K-POP Demon Hunters, and now Gene Wu, Asian America is paving the way to regain America’s glory in business, culture, and even government. If only we were allowed.

It is time for America to wake up and understand that we are not those foreigners that are good at math. We have always girded the health of this nation like when we were building the continental railroads or toiling the fields with the UFW. Now, we are the fastest growing immigrant population (as percentage growth) in America and contributing more and more to the health of this nation. America needs to recognize our real contributions to maintaining strong markets as the way to compete. Not by use of tariffs which mainly raise the cost of living and don’t create jobs. But by innovation, discipline, and hard work.

And now that Trump and his cronies are destroying democracy all over the country it is time to wake up and see Asian American leaders for who they can be. A leader like Representative Gene Wu in Texas, who is fighting in the heart of the beast where we need deep pockets and strong support. Not to give someone like Gavin Newsom $100 million plus to fund trickery and attention-grabbing stunts to power up his Presidential run.

We also need to see people like Esther Kim Varet – a Congressional candidate in Orange who is trying to flip a red seat in CA (and who began her campaign long before Newsom started paying attention). And people like Illinois State Representative Hoan Huynh, a Congressional candidate in Chicago who is fighting for healthcare and against the immigration attacks Trump is using to threaten Illinois. Wu, Kim, and Huynh are all allies of each other. They are trying to work together. Albeit under the radar since I bet most of you don’t know who they are.

It is time to recognize who we are and what we are doing to save America. I, myself, have been in the political battle for 50+ years. I am sure no one knows who I am. And that is fine, if you all would just begin to appreciate what we are doing as a community. Embrace us, support us, and join us in this existential fight. It is time to RECOGNIZE.

Over the next few weeks, I will dive deeper into each of these areas where we are working to preserve our democracy and freedoms. In the meantime, support these candidates and max out on donations to their campaigns.
