Celebrating our Military

As Hoosier Republicans, we honor our military -- from our active duty servicemembers to our veterans through the years. They keep our nation free, make America shine as a beacon of hope around the world, and are the reason we continue to have the privilege of electing our leaders today.

And at this year's Team Holcomb Fall Dinner, we're thrilled to once again honor and celebrate our veterans and our military heroes. I'm so excited to share with you that this year we'll be welcoming three very special guests to headline the dinner -- Congressmen and combat veterans Dan Crenshaw, Brian Mast and Jim Baird. These three men have made undeniable sacrifices for our country and our freedom.

The dinner is on October 14, and we'll be at the JW Marriott in downtown Indianapolis.

We all know Indiana's own Congressman Jim Baird, but you probably remember the three of them from the viral tweet that Congressman Mast posted in January with the caption, "5 eyes. 5 arms. 4 legs. All American." Of course, that's after Congressman Crenshaw was unnecessarily mocked on Saturday Night Live. It was a wrong and unnecessary attack, but at that moment Congressman Crenshaw taught us an unforgettable lesson in forgiveness.

We're really, really excited to welcome this team to center stage at our 2019 Team Holcomb Fall Dinner, and we'd love for you to be there, too. Tickets are already starting to go quickly for this very special event, so if you'd like to be there, you can book tickets directly here or email Zach on our team.

We hope to see you there!

-Chairman Kyle Hupfer

Governor Holcomb's Week That Was
Governor Holcomb: Bringing the World to Indiana!

We’ve all heard Governor Eric Holcomb say it – he’s taking Indiana to the world and bringing the world to Indiana.  After all, Indiana is home to 1,004 foreign-owned business establishments that support more than 193,000 jobs across the state.

This week, he brought the world to Indiana with:

  • Germany’s new consul general in Chicago, Wolfgang Moessinger, made his first trip to Indiana this week! He stopped by the Statehouse to meet with Governor Holcomb, and to continue to grow his country’s relationship with Indiana. Did you know that Germany is the state's second-largest foreign direct investor with 120 businesses here employing 15,100+ Hoosiers?
  • Japan’s outgoing consul general in Chicago, Naoki Ito, made his final trip to Indiana before he departs. He met Governor Holcomb at the Governor’s Residence, and together they planted an Okame Cherry Tree on the grounds to commemorate Consul General Ito’s contributions to Indiana. Japan is a top international partner for job creation with Indiana – 319 Japan-based businesses now call Indiana home!

And earlier today, Governor Holcomb announced that next month he will lead economic development trips to Asia, meeting with leaders and job creators in Japan, Korea, China and India. Today's economy is global, and the partnerships that Governor Holcomb is building are helping create great jobs throughout Indiana.

Thank you, Governor Holcomb, for your commitment to elevating Indiana’s position around the world and for creating more opportunities for Hoosiers!
