Trump posts deranged, racist AI video of Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries
With mere hours to go before Republicans drive the American economy straight off the cliff with a needless government shutdown, the MAGA cult leader was laser-focused on the task at hand: racist shithousery. Following a meeting with congressional leaders that failed to produce a breakthrough in the funding standoff, the MAGA cult leader turned to his trusty, right-wing meme farm and blasted out an incredibly stupid, incredibly racist AI deepfake video featuring Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries saying crazy racist bullshit, denigrating fully half the country. Remind us again who needs to dial down the hyper-partisan rhetoric?

VIDEO OF THE DAY: Photographer catches damning text on top Trump official's phone
An intrepid AP photographer snapped a pic of Trump Treasury Sec. Scott Bessent reading a damning text message from Agriculture Sec. Brooke Rollins where the latter more or less admitted that China outmaneuvered the United States by buying up gobs of Argentinian soybeans while refusing to purchase American soybeans, virtually killing off a huge segment of the US agricultural industry. And it's not just soybeans, by the way. Under Trump, the US has also hemorrhaged hundreds of millions of dollars in monthly beef sales to China, which has instead turned to Australia to fill the country's massive beef import needs. Just another bang-up job by our master deal-maker, friends! Oh, and to add insult to injury, Donald is actually considering a $20 BILLION, taxpayer-funded bailout for Argentina, as the South American nation's economy is currently in freefall thanks to fellow right-wing, fake populist President Javier Milei's draconian austerity measures. Man, it is SO good to be great again.

Shortages force Gaza women to suffer humiliation and discomfort
UNFPA: 700,000 women and girls of menstruating age live in Gaza, including thousands experiencing their first period under bombardment and in filthy, cramped displacement camps with no chance of changing in privacy. 10 million sanitary pads are needed every month, but less than a quarter of that is available to ease the indignity and discomfort of Gazan women. The United Nations Sexual and Reproductive Health Agency (UNFPA) is leading a drive to provide 2,500 Dignity Kits to women and girls in Gaza, making sure they have menstrual products, soap, toothbrushes, and clean clothing so women in Gaza, the West Bank, and in crisis regions around the world can maintain their dignity and hygiene, even in the darkest of times. Each kit costs just $15 to produce! Will you chip in to help ease the suffering of some of the world’s most vulnerable women?
Federal government hurtles toward a shutdown Despite controlling both chambers of Congress and the presidency, Republicans simply cannot get their act together, edging the country to the brink of a calamitous federal shutdown. Trump and his MAGA minions are, of course, attempting to blame Democrats for their mess, but when you control basically all the levers of power in Washington that's a tough sell. Democratic leaders have thus far been resolute in their position that Republicans must include an extension of healthcare subsidies to keep premiums for lower- and middle-class Americans from skyrocketing, while the GOP is posturing for yet another short-term, stop-gap bill to fund the government through late November without addressing healthcare costs. It's déjà vu all over again.

Trump’s "anti-American" order will double domestic terrorism watchlist In yet another deeply troubling, autocratic move, the wannabe dictator just issued a sweeping national security memorandum that will likely double the FBI's domestic terrorism watchlist from 5,000 people to 10,000, according to journalist Ken Klippenstein. The memo, issued last week, directs the federal government to investigate and prosecute any person, nonprofit, or entity displaying what Trump calls "indicia" of political violence: anti-capitalism, anti-Americanism, anti-Christianity, and "extremism" on race, gender, and migration. Did you get that? By fundamentally redefining "terrorism" to apply to basically anyone with opposing views on economic and political policy, religion, race, gender, and/or immigration the Trump regime can ostensibly label anyone a terrorist and persecute them accordingly. It's McCarthyism on steroids, folks.
Trump, Hegseth to headline a highly unusual gathering of top military officials in Virginia today
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth's hastily arranged meeting with top US military leaders Tuesday in Quantico, Virginia, would be highly unusual at any time, but it's made more unusual by the fact that Donald Trump — who, it bears repeating, escaped military service himself because he supposedly had bone spurs — said he would attend the gathering. "It's really just a very nice meeting talking about how well we're doing militarily, talking about being in great shape, talking about a lot of good, positive things. It's just a good message," Trump told NBC News. "We have some great people coming in, and it's just an 'esprit de corps.' You know the expression 'esprit de corps'? That's all it's about. We're talking about what we're doing, what they're doing, and how we're doing." Twenty bucks says Donnie just heard "esprit de corps" for the first time yesterday. Also, if this is just a feel-good gathering, does it warrant the multi-million-dollar, taxpayer-funded price tag? HUNDREDS of generals and admirals have flown in from around the world to attend today's meeting...for little more than a pep talk and a pat on the back?!

This rollback could turn over 45 million acres of national forestlands to private logging companies
Earthjustice: National forests that are part of our public lands system are under attack by the Trump administration. For nearly 25 years, pristine forests in backcountry lands across the nation have been off-limits to massive corporate logging operations, thanks to a Forest Service policy known as the Roadless Rule. These forests provide vital wildlife habitat; protect clean, mountain-fed drinking water for millions of Americans; and provide endless recreational opportunities like camping, hunting, fishing, rafting, and mountain biking. Join the fight to protect the forests that belong to all of us, by keeping the Roadless Rule in place!
Trump announces formation of new "peace" board "headed by a gentleman known as President Donald J. Trump" Perhaps you've heard of Donald J. Trump? Well, he's got some big, big things planned with regarding doing peace. There will be so much peace, we won't know what to do with it. We'll soon be tired of all the peace delivered by the gentleman known as Donald J. Trump!
Trump’s 100% tariff on foreign-made movies sends shockwaves through Hollywood Lord Goldemort announced Monday that his administration will impose a 100% tariff on ALL foreign-made movies, a move that stunned Hollywood and the broader entertainment industry. If enacted, this would mark the first time a US president has attempted to levy tariffs on a service rather than a physical good. Whether the wannabe dictator can legally impose tariffs on foreign-made movies remains unclear. Trade experts point out that services like film distribution fall under complex World Trade Organization rules, making enforcement difficult. Still, the announcement underscores the Trump regime's willingness to expand trade wars beyond traditional goods — into cultural and creative industries that have long relied on international collaboration.
