Hi there,
I talk to Michiganders every day and one thing keeps coming up over and over: People are scared.
Not scared from a headline or a cable news alert. The real kind. The kind that sits in your gut and wakes you up at 3 a.m. because all you can think is: “I don’t know what I’m going to do.”
It’s the mom in rural Michigan who can’t get a straight answer about vaccine availability for her baby. It’s the dad who is staring at a letter from his insurer with a 15% premium hike and no tax credits in sight. It’s the retiree who just found out their clinic is reducing critical services because federal funding has been cut.
This isn’t theoretical – it’s happening right now. And it’s happening because Donald Trump put a fringe conspiracy theorist in charge of public health.
Well, I’ve had enough.
Last week, I announced I’m drafting articles of impeachment against Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Trump’s secretary of Health and Human Services.
There might not be anyone more dangerous in Trump’s Cabinet right now.
RFK Jr. has fired the CDC director, leading to department-wide confusion and uncertainty. He’s purged essential government scientists and doctors. He’s gutted research into cancer, HIV, addiction, and mRNA technology – research that saves lives and powers Michigan’s innovation economy. He’s lied to members of the U.S. Senate under oath.
I called for his resignation earlier this month. But when I saw him standing next to Trump, telling pregnant women not to take Tylenol – claiming, with zero proof, that it could cause autism – I hit my limit.
Telling women to “tough it out” during pregnancy? Give me a break. That’s advice a middle school gym teacher gives when you get hit too hard with a dodge ball – not medical advice for a woman who is growing an entirely new human in her body.
It’s dangerous. It’s dishonest. And it’s disqualifying.
I’m serious about defending public health and Michigan families – that’s why we need to hold RFK Jr. accountable. And that means removing him from office.
We need thoughtful leaders who put science over BS. Facts over conspiracy theories. People over politics. RFK Jr. has proven – over and over again – that he is not one of them.
That’s why I intend to lead the charge to remove him from office.
And if he doesn’t like it? Tough it out.
