John xxxxxx, Britain stands at a crossroads.
Two paths. Two futures.
One is the easy-answer path of Nigel Farage and the politics of division. A Britain of grievance and decline, turning nurses, doctors, teachers and neighbours who have served our country into scapegoats.
The other is harder, but truer to who we are: the path of national renewal. Our path. Longer, more difficult, but worth every step. Because at the end of that road is a fairer country built on dignity and respect, where everyone is seen and everyone is valued.
Thank you for walking this path with us. I know at times you’ve felt the strain of difficult choices. And you’ve heard the critics who say those choices are a betrayal of Labour values. They are wrong.
There is nothing left-wing about a broken economy that makes life harder for working people.
There is nothing progressive about a country that cannot control its borders.
There is nothing compassionate about letting criminal gangs exploit desperate families on small boats. Ending that vile trade is not a betrayal of our values — it is living up to them.
And there is nothing patriotic about abandoning our flag to those who wield it as a weapon of division. I am proud to be British. I am proud to be English. I am proud to lead our four great nations — and I will never surrender our flag to plastic patriots.
All across Britain, people are rolling up their sleeves, getting on with making life better. They don’t complain. They just do. And Labour is on their side.
Thank you for everything you did to elect this Labour government, and for standing with us since. The road ahead may be hard. But the destination is worth it.
Because together, we will prove that the future belongs not to division and decline — but to hope, renewal and pride in our country.
Keir Starmer Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, and Leader of the Labour Party
