Dear John,

On October 4–5 , people from across the state are coming together for a Weekend of Action to talk to eligible Maine voters about Question 1.

Question 1 takes aim at our absentee voting system , eliminating ongoing registration for older Mainers and people with disabilities, limiting the number of secure dropboxes, shrinking the window for early voting, and much more.

Our absentee voting system has been proven to be safe and secure. Question 1’s proposed changes will only make it harder for people to vote, and it’s critical that we get the word out.

During this weekend of action, the Save Maine Absentee Voting (SMAV) campaign will be knocking on doors and making calls to ensure Mainers know the facts and head to the polls (or vote by absentee!) on November 4 to protect absentee voting.

Every conversation counts, and we need your help to make it happen. Can we count on you to join Mainers from across the state in protecting access to absentee voting? [[link removed]]

That same weekend, I’m going to be at the Climate Resilience Fair in Belfast [[link removed]] , talking to people about Question 1. Happening from 10AM - 3PM in Steamboat Landing, this event is totally free, and we’d love for you to come say hi if you’re local.

Together, we can stand up to attacks on democracy and preserve access to our safe and secure absentee voting system.

In solidarity,
- Nick
