Hello John,

We're delighted to announce that Seán Dillon has been selected to join Ireland’s national and international climate change efforts ([link removed]) for a term of 18 months.

This will be the fourth year of the Climate Youth Delegate Programme ([link removed]) , which was established by the Department of the Climate, Energy and the Environment, working in collaboration with the National Youth Council of Ireland (NYCI).

A final year student in Environmental Science and Engineering at Trinity College Dublin, Seán is passionate about sustainable development, climate infrastructure, and equitable access to clean water supplies and sanitation.

As part of the programme, the Climate Youth Delegate will:

* Support the active participation of young people in international climate policy and processes via collaborative process with youth organisations
* Raise awareness of Ireland’s international climate action efforts
* Ensure Ireland’s official delegation to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) benefits from the perspectives and knowledge of youth in its work

Seán will be engaging in extensive consultation throughout the year. Those holding youth events in Ireland can contact [email protected] (mailto:[email protected]) to invite the Climate Youth Delegates to attend.
