I want to take a quick moment to fill you in on everywhere the NDRC and this movement are fighting to defeat Republican attempts to cheat in the midterm elections:

-Just like in Texas, the fair maps movement is challenging Missouri’s new gerrymandered map that’s designed to pick up an additional GOP seat that Republicans just forced through.

-Republicans are trying to pull off an even more extreme gerrymander in Ohio. We’re mobilizing on the ground to help empower Ohio voters who are adamantly against this partisan power grab.

=The White House is pursuing an intense pressure campaign to get Indiana lawmakers to force a redraw of their congressional map — even threatening “consequences” for the state’s funding if they don’t follow through. We’re doing everything we can to strengthen bipartisan opposition to stop this redistricting rampage from expanding any further.

=…and much, much more.

This list says two things: One, we have to be ready for anything and everything the Republicans throw at us to grab power for themselves. And two — this is an enormous undertaking that requires unprecedented resources.

How much we raise this month will determine whether we can ramp up our efforts in these states or whether we’ll have to make tough calls on where to pare back. Will you make a donation so we can keep our foot on the gas wherever Republicans are attempting to steal power? [[link removed]]

We’re not only playing defense in states like Missouri, Ohio, and Indiana. We also know that we have to win big in the 2025 and 2026 elections.

We’re working to elect pro-democracy champions to the Virginia Governor’s mansion and in the House of Delegates — building a pathway to constitutional changes to the redistricting commission.

We’ve endorsed three Democracy Defenders in the Pennsylvania State Supreme Court fight. The courts should be a backstop to prevent extreme gerrymandering, and we saw that in action when the Pennsylvania Supreme Court overturned a gerrymandering scheme back in 2018.
With the 2025 elections a month away and Republicans feeling out new gerrymandering schemes everywhere from Kansas to Florida, we can’t afford to slow down now. Chip in what you can today ahead of our fundraising deadline: [[link removed]]

You make this work possible — thank you.
