Hi, it's Lisa. I want to tell you a personal story if you have a few minutes to spare. I know your time is precious, so if you can't read this whole email, will you consider donating $10 right now before my end-of-quarter deadline? [[link removed]?]
I have a scarf that carries enormous significance. It's a scarf imprinted with the very document that granted my great-great-great-grandfather, who was formerly enslaved, the right to vote.

It's truly a full-circle story: I had that scarf 157 years later, as I was sworn in as the first woman and person of color to represent Delaware in the Senate.
I also wore this scarf the day I was sworn into the House of Representatives.
And I even carried that scarf on the day of the January 6th insurrection. On such a dark day, my scarf served as a reminder that every effort to undermine our democracy has been met with voices of power and reason.
It's surreal knowing how far my family and other people of color have come. From being enslaved, to finally getting the right to vote, to having people who look like us in Congress.
Just like my ancestors, I am committed to fighting for justice. If you’re with me, will you please chip in $10 or more before my end-of-quarter deadline at midnight tomorrow so I have the resources I need to keep standing up for our rights against attacks from Trump and his MAGA cronies? [link removed] [[link removed]]I officially became the first woman and person of color to ever represent Delaware in the Senate. But even though our campaign is over, the work has just begun.
Will you chip in any amount today to help Bright Hope take center stage in the Senate?
