Tomorrow at midnight marks the deadline to avoid a government shutdown, and I want to make it abundantly clear that Democrats will not support a funding bill that continues the Republican attack on our health care.

Plain and simple: Republicans control the House, the Senate, and the White House. It’s their responsibility to fund the government. If they need Democratic votes, they have to stop their attack on healthcare.

As I stated on MSNBC, America is in a healthcare crisis because of Trump’s Big Ugly Bill. Millions are at risk of losing their healthcare, premiums are about to skyrocket for millions more, and that is why Democrats are taking a stand to cancel these cuts, lower costs, and save healthcare.

This is all of the Republicans' making, and Democrats are standing up to say, if you want our votes, you need to negotiate with us. Republicans are continually putting performative politics over protecting the American people. Enough is enough.
