Truth Keeps Winning!

Dear John,

Even though the mainstream media won’t tell you, there is good news to report! Judeo/Christian values are winning every day, and biblical truth is prevailing.

Positive things are happening, and here are some stories that will encourage you:

People Flock to Faith After Charlie Kirk Assassination

As the nation continues to reel after the death of Charlie Kirk, many questions remain, but one significant development America is witnessing is a surge in conversations about revival, with droves of people coming to faith.

Dr. John Plake, editor-in-chief of the State of the Bible series and chief innovation officer at the American Bible Society (ABS), told CBN News his organization has witnessed incredible expressions of faith across the U.S. during recent survey waves.

“We do see … in my lifetime, an unprecedented move toward the church, and toward God, and from places that you wouldn’t normally expect to see it,” he said, noting a significant upturn in young adults attending and engaging in church. “Prior to this moment in time, we were witnessing a 30-year slide, a decrease in church involvement, a decrease in Bible use, a decrease in faith affiliation.”

While ABS hasn’t conducted new research after Kirk’s death, the organization’s recent research and reports from various churches across the U.S. indicate that houses of worship are seeing even more people come to faith.

DOE To Return $13 Billion in Clean Energy Funds to Treasury

Energy Secretary Chris Wright said that his department will return over $13 billion in unobligated funds for clean energy authorized by the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act, signed by President Joe Biden.

The Department of Energy said in a press release on Wednesday that it is seeking to “return more than $13 billion in unobligated funds initially appropriated to advance the previous Administration’s wasteful Green New Scam agenda.” The IRA, passed by Democrats with no GOP help, provided hundreds of billions of dollars in subsidies for clean energy projects and programs.

At a press briefing in New York on Wednesday, Wright said that the department will return $13 billion initially earmarked to subsidize wind, solar, batteries, and electric vehicles. He escalated his criticism of electric vehicles, claiming that they have not contributed to decarbonization efforts.

“The Biden administration‘s expenditures on fighting climate change are measured in the thousands of dollars per American family. What did that deliver? Higher taxes, higher utility bills,” Wright said.

“President Biden, when he was inaugurated, 82% of U.S. primary energy came from hydrocarbons,” Wright said. “Four years later, hundreds of billions of dollars later, 82% of U.S.

GDP Revised up To Strong 3.8% Rate in Second Quarter, Final Estimate Shows

The economy grew at a 3.8% annual rate in the second quarter of this year, an upward revision of five-tenths of a percentage point, the Bureau of Economic Analysis reported Thursday morning.

The report is the third and final estimate for last quarter’s GDP. The headline number can change during such revisions. The data show that the economy bounced back after a contraction in the first quarter.

The growth in GDP in the second quarter, adjusted for inflation and seasonal variations, was stronger than most economists had expected earlier this year and allays fears about a recession. It also gives President Donald Trump more leeway to pursue his agenda.

The increase in the second quarter was largely because of an increase in consumer spending, as well as a decrease in the number of imports, which are a subtraction in the calculation of GDP.

“The big surprise is how strong U.S. consumers continue to be: despite so much uncertainty and an ongoing gloominess in sentiment, consumers keep spending,” said Heather Long, chief economist at Navy Federal Credit Union.
