Washington, DC -Today, Congressman Van Drew, Chairman of the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Oversight, held a field hearing in Charlotte, North Carolina, to confront rising violent crime in Democrat-run cities and the dangerous impact of soft-on-crime policies.
"We came to Charlotte because the people deserve answers," said Congressman Van Drew. "A 14-time repeat offender was let go over and over, and because of it, a young woman lost her life. It is unacceptable. Iryna Zarutska should still be alive, and so should countless other innocent Americans. Instead of standing with victims, Democrats keep defending the very policies that are destroying our cities. Enough is enough. As Chairman of this Subcommittee, I will continue to make sure that victims' voices are heard and that the truth about these failed policies is put on the record."
