In yet another shadow docket ruling on Friday, the Court ruled his administration can continue to withhold over $4 billion in foreign aid that Congress approved.
The conservative supermajority is once again telling Trump he can rip up checks Congress has already signed and ignore the Constitution’s separation of powers.
And this is becoming a pattern — one that should terrify all of us.
This is the 20th time since January that the Court has rushed to grant one of Trump’s emergency requests — an unprecedented streak that hands him the practical power of a dictator while the pretense of checks and balances crumbles.
Here’s what that means in practice: Trump can bypass Congress, rewrite and reallocate the nation’s budget on a whim, and freeze lifesaving aid programs at the stroke of a pen.
The MAGA-loyalist Court has turned the emergency docket into a rubber stamp for Trump’s agenda. Left unchecked, this pattern will harden into precedent — and that’s exactly how the foundations of democracy get chipped away.
