But, my friend, it taught me that earning my own money – that being able to provide for myself – was so empowering.
Sadly today, our money doesn’t go nearly as far as it did just a few months ago. The lack of leadership, and quite frankly the heartlessness coming out of DC pains me to my core – denying funding for rural hospitals, jacking up what Americans pay at the grocery store – the list is bottomless. This is why I’m running for U.S. Senate.
I know the pains you’re going through – folks tell me their stories of hardship every day. I get the struggle – my family is living through the same things. Our state deserves a voice in the Senate who knows what southerners are really going through, how hard it is to make ends meet day after day. I get it – and I want to be the voice of change in Washington to make a better life for all Mississippians.
I need your help to get there. Please support our campaign today with $5 or any amount you can spare. I promise it will make a difference in the days and weeks ahead to spread our message far and wide.

Looking back, working in those cotton fields nearly broke me down, but the experiences I struggled through are what built me up. It’s time Mississippi had a U.S. Senator focused on building up our communities. It’s tough work, but I’m ready to start working on day one.
