Watching the news on any given day, it might be tempting to throw our hands up and declare this American experiment a lost cause. Well, I won’t give up.

Our collective struggle for a more perfect union is at the core of why I am running for office. I believe in this country, and that’s why I’m willing to fight for it. I want it to be the land of opportunity for all. I want it to live up to the ideals and aspirations set forth in our Declaration of Independence.

Whether you have volunteered, sent us and other progressive campaigns your hard-earned money, or contributed to this movement in any way, it was an act of faith in the promise of our country.

No country will ever be perfect, and that’s okay. But it doesn’t give us a ‘pass’ to not try to form a more perfect union.
