As you might know, I joined Dave Young’s grassroots campaign last month to restore real leadership to Colorado’s Eighth District—and it has been a truly thrilling start.
I’ve spent my career fighting to elect working-class champions to office nationwide, from the Deep South to the Pacific Northwest. As a Texas Democrat, I’ve seen firsthand the direct consequences of political power being consolidated in the hands of Republicans who only care about the interests of their wealthy donors and corporate backers.
It’s why I do this work, and why I’m so passionate about Dave’s campaign.
As I’ve gotten to know Dave—and this beautiful corner of Colorado—it’s become clear to me that he’s the only one in this race with the history, experience, and vision to win this battleground election and deliver for the working families in CO–08.
He’s called Greeley home for over two decades. He's represented these communities in the state legislature, he fights for them as state treasurer, and he’ll champion these communities in Congress. Winning here will have an impact across our country.
As Campaign Manager, it’s my responsibility to ensure we’re doing everything we can to win. That means hiring field organizers, making phone calls and knocking on doors, helping us win over critical endorsements, strategizing our long-term plans, and yes, raising the money our campaign needs.
Which is a lot. One thing about highly competitive races like ours is that they’re expensive.
