[1]Talarico for Texas
John — I’m reaching out to ask a
favor.
I know nobody likes being asked for money, and frankly, I hate asking. If
there were a way to run a campaign without ever asking for a dollar, I
would.
But Senate races are outrageously expensive. National contests with
national stakes invite absurd amounts of outside spending.
Corporate and billionaire mega-donors who don’t live here are willing to
spend millions. They’ll do anything to uphold the corrupt system because
they profit off the status quo at our expense.
I’m running to get Big Money out of our politics. It’s why I never took a
dime of corporate PAC money in the Texas House, and I’m not starting now.
But running a grassroots campaign focused on shifting power away from
those at the top and back to working people puts a big target on us.
So we have to raise the resources to compete. Tomorrow's FEC fundraising
deadline is our chance to show them we will be ready for anything.
I know you probably did not expect to
make a contribution to our campaign when you woke up this morning, but if
you’re in a place to give, I’m asking:
[ [link removed] ]Make a contribution to our campaign for the U.S. Senate before the
September 30 FEC deadline to become a
Founding Donor. I wouldn’t ask if it wasn’t important.
