Childhood obesity affects more than 14.7 million children and teens in the U.S., impacting both physical and emotional health in lasting ways. This September, during Childhood Obesity Awareness Month, the Obesity Action Coalition (OAC) is offering free resources to help families build healthy habits, prevent bullying and better understand treatment options. No family should face this journey alone. Find more of our resources here.

Advocacy Updates

Act Now to Improve Obesity Treatment Access

The Treat and Reduce Obesity Act (TROA) is gaining momentum in Congress with 49 Representatives and 19 Senators signed on. This bill would expand access to safe, effective obesity treatments—but lawmakers need to hear from you. Urge your Senators and Representatives to support TROA today.

Protect TRICARE Coverage

TRICARE is ending coverage of obesity medications for retirees and limiting access for others to network providers only. This affects thousands of military families and puts necessary treatment out of reach. Take action to protect access and support the health of service members and their families.

Ohio Speaks Up for Obesity Care

After months of advocacy, progress has been made in reinstating access for FDA-approved GLP-1 medications for Ohio state employees. This is an important step towards comprehensive obesity care for all Ohioans, but we have more work to do! Read more and take action.

Inclusion of Children Affected by Obesity

Sign our petition asking youth organizations to ensure children with obesity are included, supported, build confidence, stay active and thrive in sports and other youth activities. Every child deserves the chance to belong and grow into a healthier, happier adult. Sign the Petition now
