Dear John,

Today, July 4th, is Independence Day. This is a time to reflect upon how far we, as a society, have come since our founding fathers signed the Declaration of Independence. It is also a time to reflect on the work that lies ahead. 

I work every day in Congress to connect and strengthen our rural communities, to protect our veterans and service members, and to ensure that every citizen is able to participate in our democracy and pursue their American Dream.

I will continue to work every day in Congress toward these goals.

My best wishes to you and your family for a safe holiday. Happy 4th of July!
