Nine states have already asked the Supreme Court to overturn Obergefell, and bigot Kim Davis officially filed a petition with the Court. The threat to marriage equality is real - and it’s growing. If they succeed, outdated bans in more than half of U.S. states would snap back into effect overnight.

But there’s hope: LGBTQ+ elected officials are fighting back. In Virginia, Adam Ebbin, Mark Sickles, and Rozia Henson are moving a constitutional amendment update forward. In California, Colorado, and Hawaii, pro-equality champions placed marriage equality on the ballot and succeeded in protecting love. This is real progress, but we can’t stop now.

If we don’t elect more pro-choice, pro-equality LGBTQ+ leaders in November, the Supreme Court will roll back decades of rights.
