TDLR Seeking Public Members To Represent Texas Consumers On 14 Advisory Boards

The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) is currently seeking applicants to serve as public member volunteers on 14 advisory boards. Board members participate in virtually scheduled meetings, allowing for flexible participation.

Advisory board members play a critical role in supporting TDLR’s mission by providing technical knowledge, industry expertise, and real-world insight to the Texas Commission of Licensing and Regulation and agency staff. These boards are composed of licensees, representatives from regulated businesses and industries, public members, and other professionals.

Board members serve six-year terms and public members cannot have any connection to a profession regulated by the advisory board. Serving as a public member on an advisory board can be a great stepping-stone to serving as a member of an advisory board related to your profession.

Although there is no financial compensation for serving, public member representatives on advisory boards receive the personal and professional satisfaction of knowing they are protecting the interests of Texas citizens and consumers. Please consider submitting an application for one of these volunteer positions.

Please apply if you’re ready to contribute your experience and make a difference. If you're unable to help at this time but know someone who'd be an excellent board member, please forward this email to them.
