Dear John,
Happy’s 1,000-mile journey from New York to her new adoptive home in Alabama wasn’t easy. But neither was her life growing up on a production farm.
For years, she was forced to watch her babies get sent to slaughter, again and again. Until one day, the farm’s owner had a change of heart and reached out to Farm Sanctuary in hopes of giving Happy a chance.
We quickly found an adoptive home where Happy would finally have the space and peace she needed to heal. Then came the tricky part: arranging her transport.
John, rescues like these would be impossible without the support of kindhearted friends like you.

I hope you will help Farm Sanctuary bring more animals from exploitation to freedom by joining us with a special gift towards our $50,000 goal today.
We did our best to keep Happy comfortable on the drive to her new home, including giving her anti-nausea medication before hitting the road. She still had some motion sickness, so we checked on her frequently and made stops whenever she needed a break.
Like Happy’s, many of our rescues are multi-day journeys. We travel hundreds if not thousands of miles to reach and bring animals to sanctuary—stopping every few hours to give medications, switch drivers, and reassure our new friends they are safe.
