Dear Friend of MCV,
I love Maine—and I can’t wait to be there with all of you!
I’m excited to join you at this year’s Evening for the Environment for the first time in my role as president of the League of Conservation Voters (LCV).
Together, we’ll take a look at how LCV is standing strong for clean energy, climate action, and environmental justice at the federal level, and how national and state action connect to build a healthier, more sustainable, and more just future.
I’m especially excited that Maine advocates Francis Eanes, Lucy Hochschartner, Kaya Lolar, and Adam Nordell will be lifting up environmental progress right in Maine—from clean energy labor policies and energy fairness, to Wabanaki priorities and tackling PFAS pollution.
And, as a reminder of the power of words during uncertain times, nature poet Samaa Abdurraqib will share her piece, Because Winter is Warming .
This will be a special evening of community, conversation, and connection. I hope you’ll join us as we gather for the 23rd Evening for the Environment on Thursday, October 23.
