John,
Republicans thought they could draw me out of Congress.
When they rigged the Texas map last month for Donald Trump, their goal was to weaken the voices of North Texans who have always powered our democracy. The working families, young voters, communities of color, and basically anyone who dares to stand up to Trump and his allies.
Donald Trump may have the muscle to push late-night comedians off the air, but he doesn’t have the power to shut me up, and he sure doesn’t have the power to make me back down.
At the end of this month, I’ll face my first FEC fundraising deadline since these new maps went into effect. When that report goes public, Republicans will be looking to see if we have the strength to fight back, and I want them to see a campaign that’s bigger than their maps and stronger than their lies.
That’s why I need your help. Will you pitch in $25 before the September 30th deadline? [[link removed]]
In solidarity,
Marc

Growing up in Fort Worth’s historic Como neighborhood, I used to dream about opportunities that would allow me a chance to experience things that filled my imagination; about American heroes and fascinating places in our country. I dreamed that I could one day make a difference in the lives of my friends and neighbors. It was that simple goal that eventually led me to Washington and the halls of Congress.
For over a decade, I have been humbled by the ongoing support and encouragement of the community that raised me. Today, I’m asking for it again.
