Good evening, everyone.
I know a lot of you are watching the news and feeling anxious about what is happening in this country.
I get it.
Republicans have total control of the White House, Congress and the courts and are using that power to take away people's health care to give tax cuts for the richest people in the country. Prices are going up as America's standing in the world declines.
Meanwhile, Donald Trump is trying to rig the next House election before a single vote is cast; he's targeting political opponents, universities, law firms, and more.
The only way forward is for Democrats to organize and mobilize.
It reminds me of Bobby Kennedy's eulogy of his brother, President John F. Kennedy at the Democratic Convention.
He said that JFK would have never been able to accomplish any of what he had without the support of all of you — the Democratic Party. He said that when we’re in it together, we can accomplish a great deal.
All we can do is what we can do. And in California, one of the most meaningful things we can do is our part to stop Trump from rigging the next election.
We are one week away from voting on the Election Rigging Response Act. And if we are going to win, it's going to take Democrats everywhere chipping-in what they can to get us across the finish line with more YES votes than no.
I can't do that alone. So I am asking:

History reminds us, each of us will be judged... and ultimately judge ourselves, to the extent we contribute, as Bobby Kennedy also said, to the life of our cities, our state, our nation, and the world we are trying to build.
Thank you for doing what you can.
Gavin Newsom
