I’m sorry to be so blunt with this fundraising request, but here’s the reality: I intend to win again, and that costs money.

Since my community sent me to Congress, I’ve been focused on a simple idea: if you work hard and play by the rules, you should be able to afford a decent life. We’ve got to bring down costs, create good solid jobs, and battle back the corruption that stands in the way. We’ve got to restore the American Dream.

But since Trump and Republicans have taken full control of our government, we’ve seen costs rise, the job market tank, and corruption run amok.

Over the past few months, they’ve rammed through their weak and feckless agenda that is making healthcare more and more expensive, threatens my fellow veterans' earned care, and puts Social Security at risk, while giving tax handouts to corporations and billionaires.

This is unacceptable. The America I know believes in hard work, not corporate handouts. And that’s why it’s so important we stand together to end the GOP’s stranglehold on Washington and put hardworking people first. That’s why it’s so important that we take back the House next November.

Now, I know you might be thinking: “November is more than a year away — that’s so far off!” But here’s the thing: the path to flipping the House and protecting this battleground seat has already started.

I’m the only Democrat defending a battleground seat in Pennsylvania, which means this will be another hard-fought race. I’m ready to keep throwing punches and lead in this righteous fight, but I can’t do it without your help.
