Hi John.
Groceries, health care — everything is just too expensive.
I hear from Kansans every day who are working hard but are still struggling with higher prices. I know how stressful that can be. I worked my way through college and I'm still paying off my student loans.
Our economy needs major changes so hardworking people can finally start getting ahead again. So today, I'm sharing a special update on how I'm pushing to Lower Costs for Kansans.

Lowering Health Care Costs

I helped pass a law to cap insulin prices at $35 a month for seniors and give Medicare the power to negotiate lower prescription drug prices, helping 74,000 Kansans.
I also worked with both parties to ban surprise medical bills. No one should get an unexpected bill after a hospital stay.

Lowering Grocery Prices
On the Agriculture Committee, I’m pushing for bipartisan legislation to help Kansas farmers grow and deliver food more efficiently. That means lower costs at the checkout line.
I’ve also backed legislation to crack down on price gouging and restore competition to our food supply chain.

Lowering Middle Class Taxes

Our tax system is unfair and rigged to benefit the wealthy, not people who work for a living.
That’s why I’m backing a bipartisan plan to double middle class tax cuts for child care.
I’m also supporting middle class tax cuts for people who commute to work, family caregivers, and more.

Kansans need solutions, not extremism. That’s why I opposed an extreme budget law that gives billionaires their largest tax cut in history, while raising costs for everyone else.
It'll kick more than 92,000 Kansans off their health care, including children and seniors, and force thousands more to pay another $708 in premiums.
This new budget law is deeply troubling. But it isn’t the last word.
I know a brighter future is possible, where we value hard work – not just billionaires. I won’t stop fighting for an economy that works for everyone.
