John,

The Amazon rainforest has been on fire for three weeks. Three. Weeks.

It produces more than 20% of the world’s oxygen and is burning to the
ground with barely any media coverage.

[ [link removed] ]Let’s cut to the chase: with raging wildfires, devastating floods, and
record-breaking temperatures, there’s no doubt we’re in a climate crisis.
Sign our petition now to demand the major TV networks cover the Amazon
burning like the crisis it is.

When Notre Dame -- a building in Paris -- caught on fire, the media
covered it non-stop. But when our planet’s lungs are on fire for three
weeks, we barely hear a peep.

Climate change is *the* issue of our generation -- affordable housing
means nothing if there is nowhere to live, a living wage is useless if
there is nothing to buy, and health care is meaningless if there are no
people left.

DFA proudly aligns ourselves with progressives in Congress like Alexandria
Ocasio-Cortez in the House and Bernie Sanders in the Senate who have
repeatedly called on Congress to declare a climate emergency. We must do
whatever we can back them up and that’s where we need your help:

It’s about time the TV networks treated climate change like the emergency
it is.

[ [link removed] ]Sign our petition now calling on TV networks to do their jobs by
covering the Amazon rainforest fires and responsibly informing the public
about the dire effects of climate change.

The media responds to public pressure. That’s why we've partnered with
allies like the Progressive Change Campaign Committee to turn up the heat
on the major media networks and demand they cover this devastating crisis.
The more people who sign our petition the more pressure they’ll feel to
cover this critically important issue.

Thank you for doing your part,

-Charles
