My annual financial disclosure form took me 5 minutes – because I don’t own any stocks. Unlike so many members of Congress, I don’t abuse my office for stock trading.
Instead, I’ve spent my time in Congress fighting for working class Americans – and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
When I ran for Congress, I drove for Uber and took on credit card debt just to get by. After my swearing in, I got denied from apartments in D.C. because of my credit.
So I don’t just talk about the struggles that working class Americans are facing right now – I’ve lived them. Now, thanks to your passionate support, we defied the odds again and again. But to stay in Congress, I need to count on your support again.
