In the eyes of the MAGA right, NYC’s Zohran Mamdani and Minneapolis’ Omah Fateh, both candidates for mayor of their respective cites, are communists. But so were Barack Obama, Kamala Harris, and even Joe Biden. The anti-Marxist Big Lie is back!

In fact, it never left. However, if polls are correct it’s having far less impact than ever before. On the other hand, the ruling class right is growing more desperate and therefore more dangerous.

This marks the third time anti-communist and anti-socialist crusades have been used to divide the country. What lessons were learned during the McCarthy period, including mistakes the CPUSA made during that awful period in U.S. history? What’s the best way to fight back?
