Hi, Friend. I'm Arati Kreibich, a progressive City Councilwoman running for Congress in New Jersey.

My big primary against one of the most conservative Democrats in Congress is on Tuesday. I've been endorsed by the PCCC, Congresswomen Ayanna Pressley and Katie Porter, Indivisible, the Sunrise Movement, and Senator Bernie Sanders.

I have a strange request. Please do not volunteer for my campaign this weekend! The reason is that we have such a strong grassroots program that local volunteers have filled up all the shifts. We will be making phone calls, sending text messages, and doing physically-distant July 4 visibility.

Here's where we do need help -- running digital ads to combat the flood of Wall Street-funded ads Rep. Josh Gottheimer is airing. Can you please chip in $3 or more here?

Here are 5 quick things to know about our campaign.

1. Rachel Maddow highlighted our race this week and said: "This is a real fight. This is real stakes." She showed a news report pointing out that Gottheimer "voted with Trump more than any Democrat in the nation."
2. I'm a neuroscientist who wants to help get us out of this coronavirus tragedy. When asked by our local paper to give Trump a grade on coronavirus response, I gave an F. My opponent hemmed and hawed, not wanting to offend Trump.
3. My opponent is one of Trump's favorite Democrats, gets millions from Wall Street, and actively undermines Democratic leadership when they want to do the right thing.
4. When the new House Democratic majority wanted to stop Trump's caging of kids at the border, Gottheimer organized other conservative Democrats to tank the Democratic proposal. Kids suffer today because of him.
5. I support Medicare For All and a Green New Deal -- and am running ads on expanding Social Security. My opponent is one of the top opponents of these and other progressive agenda items.

This district is increasingly diverse and progressive. Democrats won it by 14.7% in 2018. We deserve a real progressive.
