Friends,

One in four women have had an abortion — and I am one of them.

I know firsthand what a deeply personal choice getting an abortion is, and the importance of an individual’s right to decide whether or not to have one for themselves — regardless of income or ZIP code.

As abortion and reproductive rights are under attack by everyone from the Trump administration to right-wing state legislatures, I’m asking you to join me in redoubling our fight against repressive attacks on choice, and for women and pregnant people’s rights, health care, and lives. Add your name next to mine to call for bold, comprehensive efforts to eliminate barriers to abortion and reproductive care.

This will take more than one piece of legislation. Among the steps we must take are:

• Passing legislation to stop abortion bans and medically unnecessary restrictions
• Repealing the Hyde Amendment
• Reversing the Trump administration’s gag rule
• Increasing Title X funding for health care for women and pregnant people
• Codifying Roe v. Wade into law
• Demanding that senators block the confirmation of anti-choice judicial nominees

I know the constant barrage on the constitutionally mandated right to choose is exhausting, but I truly believe our collective organizing and collective activism will put an end to these vicious attacks once and for all.
