State: Parental Rights Win 🏆

When a trial court sought to force a father to share custody of his daughter with her mother's former boyfriend in the case In Re C.J.C., Relator, the Texas Supreme Court stepped in and delivered a unanimous decision for parental rights. They returned full custody of the child to her father. Andrew Brown, distinguished Senior Fellow of Child and Family policy at TPPF stated, "The Texas Supreme Court affirmed that it is a fit parent, not the court, who determines what is in their child's best interests."

TPPF filed an amicus brief in this case while TPPF's General Counsel Robert Henneke delivered oral arguments before the Texas Supreme Court.
